Radio 4′s Farming Today to visit Hartley Farms

We’re pretty excited by the news that Charlotte Smith from Radio 4′s Farming Today will be visiting us tomorrow to research how modern techniques can be used to treat problem grain. She’ll be looking at issues with bugs, temperature, moisture amongst other things.
Needless to say we’ve had a quick spruce up here although we’re not sure exactly how much grain dust will show up on the radio!
Tune in on Saturday 25th AprilĀ at 6:30am to have a laugh at us!

Hartley Farms take delivery of new Turbodan mobile drier.

Earlier this year, Hartley Farms took delivery of a new mobile drier, an 18 tonne Turbodan.
The new drier, added to the existing 15 tonne mobile and the fixed drier will not only give more flexibility but more capacity during busy or wet harvests.
Not only that, it help us keep our cost of delivery down, which in turn benefits the grower.
It’s a pretty impresive piece of kit, read more about it by following the link or have a look next time your dropping off or picking up grain.

New face about the place at Hartley Farms

You might have seen an extra pair of hands helping out last year during the harvest. The pair of hands belong to Caroline who has helped for years with more horsey matters on the farm.
However, this week, Caroline added another string to her bow, having completed a Telescopic Handling course.
So a hearty “congratulations” to her and keep your eyes peeled for her whizzing around the yard…
