Optical sorting and separation
The use of optical separators to remove ergot, directly from the raw product, reducing large weight losses. Optical separation is especially useful in the removal of:
- Pink grains associated with fusarium.
- Black/Burnt or rancid grains from cereals.
- White mouldy grains from rapeseed.
- Ergot can be removed from malting barley, wheat, feed/milling rye and milling oats, eliminating the potential of the fungus entering the food chain.
